About Ilene

A lawyer who has been through the process herself

I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and my Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. I am licensed to practice law in the province of Ontario and the state of Massachusetts.

“Having grown up in the United States, I went through the Canadian immigration process myself — starting with work and study permits and ending with Canadian citizenship.”

Prior to opening my own immigration practice, I was an associate at a boutique immigration law firm in Toronto and a paralegal at the Harvard Immigration & Refugee Clinic at Greater Boston Legal Services. Before practicing immigration law, I was a corporate law associate focusing on small and mid-sized businesses at one of Canada’s largest law firms.

I have represented clients across various industries, including transportation, STEM, arts, healthcare, consulting, media, and education. I respect that clients come to me because their immigration issues are too complex or time-consuming to deal with on their own — I work diligently to make the process as simple, straightforward, and efficient as possible, and keep clients informed every step of the way.
